PRIESTLEY students were lucky enough to see filming begin on set of the newest season of hit Netflix series ‘You’.

During an exciting trip to the Big Apple, the media students were taken to film sets to explore where some of the most iconic past and present shows were created.

Priestley College took 40 students in total to New York to enhance and enrich their classroom learning.

They joined a tour of TV and film sets that are familiar to millions of people around the world.

“The tour allowed us to see where huge TV shows and films were filmed such as Ghostbusters and Friends which was really interesting,” said Dean Duffy, a former Wade Deacon pupil.

Meanwhile Sophie Wright, who previously studied at The Heath, also said the tour was her highlight as TV shows she watches were being filmed at the time.

“The show ‘You’ started filming their new season and it was really cool to say we were there when that happened,” she said.

Another student’s highlight from the trip was visiting the Museum of Moving Image in the Astoria neighborhood of Queens.

During the trip, students immersed themselves in the city sights too, including Times Square and the Rockefeller Center.

One of the most memorable moments was a visit to the iconic Radio City Music Hall where they met one of the Rockettes dancers.

“The students enjoyed a number of media and film-based activities which enabled them to consider various career possibilities while exploring the Big Apple,” said media teacher Lindsey.
