THOUSANDS of motorcyclists are set to pass through Cheshire as part of a tribute to Dave Myers.

Best known as one half of the Hairy Bikers, Dave died in February aged 66.

On Saturday (June 8), the ‘Dave Day’ remembrance procession will make its way from London to his hometown, Barrow-in-Furness, with around 10,000 bikers expected to take part.

Led by fellow Hairy Biker Si King and Dave’s friend Jason Woodcock, the convoy is expected to arrive at the Moto Services at Knutsford on the M6 Northbound between 12.30pm and 1pm.

In her first TV interview since his death, Dave’s widow Liliana Orzac told ITV’s Lorraine: “His energy is everywhere. It just transpires and rolls on into this beautiful thing that’s happening at the weekend.

“Right after he passed, there was this comment on socials that I picked up on. This person was saying ‘Brave Dave. Dave should be synonymous to joy, zest for life'.

“So when we’re having a good day, we should say, ‘I’m having a Dave day’.”

Once in Barrow, the riders will enjoy a music concert and a service of remembrance.

Dave Day will raise funds for The Institute for Cancer Research and NSPCC Childline.
