A NUMBER of premises in Warrington are seeking licences to sell alcohol.

Among them are a number of new bars that are set to open in the town centre, and ones featuring live music.

To sell alcohol, businesses must apply for a licence from Warrington Borough Council.

These applications are listed on the council’s website – with five licence applications currently listed as being under consideration:

Time Square

A new venture looks set to move into the former Heavenly Desserts unit at Time Square.

KBC Brothers Limited is seeking a licence for the sale by retail of alcohol for consumption on the premises, from Sunday to Saturday between 7am and 2am

The licence would also cover indoor recorded music, indoor dance performances and indoor live music, again Sunday to Saturday between 7am and 2am.

In addition, indoor and outdoor late night refreshment would be permitted, Sunday to Saturday between 11pm and 2am.

Arcadia Yard

As previously reported, a new ‘cool’ bar will be coming to Warrington town centre soon.

Arcadia Yard Lounge Bar is set to open its doors on Palmyra Square, with work well underway to prepare the premises for opening.

Now, Trade 13 Limited has applied to the council for a licence for the sale by retail of alcohol for consumption on and off the premises

The licence would also cover indoor live music, indoor recorded music and indoor late night refreshment – with both aspects of the licence applying Sunday to Saturday between 11am and 11.30pm respectively.

LB Mint Bar, The Hive

It appears another business has signed up to trade at The Hive.

The former TJ Hughes and Co-op building, which is more than 100 years old, has undergone a transformation in recent years to offer shops, bars, restaurants and other businesses.

The latest, for Unit GF01 looks to be LB Mint Bar, which is seeking a licence for the sale by retail of alcohol for consumption on and off the premises

This is from Sunday to Thursday, between the hours of 11am and midnight, as well as Friday to Saturday between 11am and 1am.

A licence is also sought for indoor recorded music, again from Sunday to Thursday between 11am and midnight, and from Friday to Saturday between 11am and 1am.

The Cross, Lymm

Anji Owens applied to Warrington Borough Council for a licence permitting the sale by retail of alcohol for consumption on and off the premises at Bird and Bay, at The Cross in Lymm.

The existing business has an extensive collection of unique items to create a ‘vibrant and individual’ home and garden.

Its range of brands and designs to ‘bring nature into all it does’, while focusing on sustainable, vegan and cruelty free products.

This would be from Monday to Wednesday, between the hours of 10am and 5pm, as well as Thursday to Saturday between 10am and 10.30pm, and Sunday between 10am and 10pm.

Asda Express

The last is for the Asda Express garage on Wilderspool Causeway, formerly Spar, which is seeking a 24/7 licence for the sale by retail of alcohol for consumption off the premises

It is also seeking an indoor late night refreshment licence from Sunday to Saturday between 11pm and 5am.
