A GROUP of brave housebuilders will be taking on an 11,000ft skydive to raise money for a children’s hospice.

A team of five from David Wilson Homes North West, which is based in Birchwood Park, will be taking on the challenge in aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice.

Claire Jarvis, Gavin Powell, Ryan Godliman, Julian Digby and Kirsty Smith are set to complete the skydive on Saturday, June 22 as part of a continued commitment to the charity.

Claire House Children’s Hospice was chosen as the housebuilder’s charity of choice in 2022, and since then the business has raised more than £120,000.

The Children’s Hospice, which opened in 1998, helps seriously and terminally ill children and now supports more than 400 families.

“As a parent, it must be devastating to hear the news that your child is seriously ill and may not live to be an adult,” said Claire Jarvis, managing director of David Wilson Homes North West.

“For our team to jump out of a plane is easy compared to the bravery needed by the children and families who are facing really difficult times.

“We are proud to continue to support Claire House Children’s Hospice so they can continue to make memories.”

The team will complete the skydive at Tilstock Freefall Club in Whitchurch, Shropshire, and have set up a Just Giving page, which has already raised £250.

“David Wilson Homes continue to go above and beyond with their support for our children and families,” said Harry Boshell from Claire House Children’s Hospice.

“We’ve met so many of their staff in the last year at fundraising events and volunteering days and everyone is so passionate about supporting our families.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming this brave team back on the ground in June.”
