THE Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Warrington South has launched his campaign.
Cllr Graham Gowland will stand for the party in the constituency in the General Election on July 4.
He has served the town for eight years as a parish councillor and then since 2021 a borough councillor.
He said: “Having been a local councillor, it is now time to take the big step to Westminster.
“I really got into politics over local campaigns such as saving my library.
“I have challenged decisions made in the town but so much that shapes our lives locally comes from Parliament.
“It’s not right to criticise, if you won’t step up so here I am. I’ll work hard for the town I call home, and I just need you to trust me with your vote.
“More and more people are turning to the Liberal Democrats to put an end to this terrible Conservative Government.
“They know that every vote for the Liberal Democrats is a vote to elect a strong local champion who will fight for a greener, fairer and a more compassionate Britain.”
For the last 15 years, Cllr Gowland has lived in Walton, then Lymm, with his wife Tracy, two children and a brace of cocker spaniels.
He works as a risk manager for a large pub company during the day, and spends his evenings with the family, helping with community activities, and delivering the popular local Heartstart first aid course.
