A MAN has been arrested after a large police presence descended on a street.

Around half a dozen police cars were spotted on Dial Street in Warrington town centre this afternoon, Monday.

Cheshire Police has confirmed that officers were in attendance following reports of an intrusion in a building on the street.

A suspect was arrested on suspicion of burglary, having been located on scaffolding outside the building.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 12.37pm on Monday, June 3, police were called to reports of an intruder at an address on Dial Street, Warrington.

“Officers attended the scene and located a 39-year-old man on scaffolding outside the building.

“The man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and is currently in police custody.”
