DESIGNS have been unveiled for a new bar set to open in a former Slug and Lettuce venue.

Plans have now been submitted to Warrington Borough Council’s planning department seeking advertisement consent for the premises in Stockton Heath.

The venue, at Victoria Square on Grappenhall Road, called last orders for the final time last Friday night, May 24.

Having opened exactly 10 years ago, it is currently closed to be revamped, reopening as The Phoenix Bar and Grill next week on Thursday.

Plans by applicant Leased and Tenanted Pubs are with the council for six replacement signs featuring ‘The Phoenix’ and ‘bar, cocktails and grill’.

They are ‘pending consideration’, according to the council’s planning portal.

A Slug and Lettuce spokesman previously said: "We are sad to share that we will be closing The Slug and Lettuce.

"Stockton Heath – it has been a dream and you have been fabulous.”

A spokesman for Stonegate Pubs also previously said: “Slug and Lettuce Stockton Heath will close, making way for the exciting launch of The Phoenix Bar and Grill on Thursday, June 6.

“The newly revamped venue will feature a diverse, foodie-focused menu, including tapas, pizzas and street food.

“Guests can also look forward to live music events, bottomless brunches and a variety of other activities, positioning The Phoenix Bar and Grill as a vibrant community hub.

“Aimed at catering to all age groups, the establishment is eager to welcome the community with its fresh, new offerings.”
