WIRE are off to Wembley.

Should they be successful in defeating Wigan to win the Challenge Cup next Saturday, June 8, the traditional homecoming parade will follow.

Due to the planning required for such an event, road closures have already been drawn up in the event that Warrington Wolves are crowned cup winners.

These have been conformed in a road closure notice published by Warrington Borough Council.

The homecoming parade would take place the day after the final, on Sunday, June 9.

No vehicles, except those taking part in the event or belonging to emergency services, are allowed to travel on the names streets that day.

Bicycles are included in the term ‘vehicle’ and must not be ridden through any of the named streets during the parade.

The notice adds: “Any person wilfully acting in contravention of the order will be liable to pay a penalty not exceeding £400.”

Pedestrian and emergency routes will be maintained throughout.

The following roads will be closed in phases at various times to facilitate the safe passage of the parade:

Academy Street

Academy Way

Barbauld Street

Bridge Street

Buttermarket Street

Cairo Street

Church Street

Dial Street

Egypt Street

Friars Gate

Manchester Road
