A HISTORIC event in Lymm is set to make its return to the village once again in August.
Lymm Rushbearing is one of the most historic events in Warrington, which was re-born in the 1970s.
Rushbearing is an old English tradition in which rushes are collected and placed on the floor of a church, and dates back to the middle ages.
For the last several years, Lymm Rushbearing has taken place on the second Sunday of August each year.
This year is set to be the same, as the procession will return to the village on Sunday, August 11.
It is set to start at the lower dam at 4pm, before making its way to St Mary’s Church on Rectory Lane at 4.30pm.
