COLLEAGUES from Warrington have helped to raise more than £7,000 after completing five-and-a-half million steps in a month.

The team at Miller Homes, which is headquartered at Birchwood Park, have raised the funds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

This was through the company’s ‘Active April’ charity challenge which was a month-long steps count challenge.

As well as fundraising for an important cause, the challenge also aimed to foster a culture of health and wellbeing among employees.

Throughout April, Miller Homes employees across all 10 regions logged their steps.

This year’s challenge saw the north west team contribute 5,576,000 steps collectively.

For reach mile stepped, Miller Homes pledged £1 towards Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, resulting in more than £7,000 being donated.

The team also completed in Alder Hey Children Hospital's dragon boat race earlier this month.

Stuart Craig, managing director of Miller Homes North West said: “The overwhelming support and dedication shown by our team during Active April has been truly inspiring.

“We are thrilled to have surpassed our fundraising target and to have made a meaningful impact on the lives of those supported by Alder Hey Children’s Hospital."

Miller Homes North West will continue fundraising efforts throughout the year, with the company pledging to match funds raised up to £10,000 per region.
