COULD this be one of the best value lunches in Warrington?

Butter Wouldn’t Melt opened in Stockton Heath nearly two years ago.

It is a family-run bakery owned by Stretton resident Caitlin Wilson.

Selling cake, breakfast, lunch, and a wide range of drinks, Butter Wouldn’t Melt often switches up its menu.

Warrington Guardian:

After spotting some of the delicious food on the business’ Instagram page, I thought I’d head down on a Friday lunchtime to give it a go.

A key offering of its current lunch menu, which I found difficult to choose from due to all the delicious sounding options, is the ‘build a bowl’ section.

This allows customers to create their own lunch from a range of choices and fillings with three different steps for £6.

The first step is the base, with options including rice, fries, poke style, tater tots, or curly fries.

Warrington Guardian:

Next is the filling, with chicken, fried chicken, tofu, halloumi, vegan chicken, or vegan sausage on offer.

The final step is the flavour with customers being able to choose from salt and pepper, sticky BBQ, or sweet chilli.

I went for poke style, chicken, and sticky BBQ and I was certainly left with no regrets.

On opening the box, I was surprised by the generous portion size.

Warrington Guardian:

It was packed with rice, chicken, and plenty of delicious veg and salad such as tender stem broccoli, carrot, cucumber, radish, spring onion, tomato, and much more.

The chicken was very tender and fresh and despite it being a large portion, it felt light and healthy due to the amount of veg and salad in there. The sauce was really tasty and brought all the ingredients together.

At just £6, this lunch bowl seems really good value for money.

I’ll definitely be trying it again and would recommend it. I'll also be heading back to try one of Butter Wouldn't Melt's bagels which are priced at £5, which again seems very reasonable.

Warrington Guardian:

And of course, I couldn’t leave the bakery without sampling a few cakes.

Spoilt for choice, I went for a cherry bakewell blondie, a lotus filled cookie, and rocky road.

Again, these were huge portions and would be perfect for sharing.

Each of them were packed with filling and again you feel like you are getting your money’s worth.

Although I definitely couldn’t finish a whole one in just one go.

It also worth noting the quick service I experienced there, despite it being fairly busy on a Friday lunchtime.

Warrington Guardian:

All in all, Butter Wouldn’t Melt is well worth a visit and it definitely stands out in a village of fantastic independent businesses.
