A DISTRAUGHT pet owner is pleading for residents to check their sheds and outbuildings in search of his beloved cat Ronnie.

Josh Laff, from Great Sankey, is appealing for help from locals after his ginger feline went missing from Wellfield Street on Sunday (May 19).

The exact location pin-pointed as 'opposite Food 4 Thought' on the end of the street.

With the help of Warrington Animal Welfare, who has contributed to sharing the appeal, Josh is asking residents in surrounding areas to check inside garden sheds and out buildings, as well as garages and bins, as he believes that is where five-year-old Ronnie will be hiding.

In the heartfelt appeal, Josh said: "We inherited Ronnie and his sister Rosie from my mother in laws Will, who sadly passed away in April from cancer.

"He was her beloved cat.

"Ronnie is very shy and scared of strangers, so if you see him, please do not approach him, he is not aggressive but just scared, instead call us."

He continued: "We are new to the area, so he has only been outside for the first time over the past couple of days, so we know he is probably trapped somewhere as it is out of character for him to stay out all night, with being a scaredy cat.

"We are now becoming concerned that he might be thirsty or distressed."
