A ‘DANGER to life’ warning has been issued in Warrington amid the current heavy downpour.
An amber weather warning for heavy rain is in place from today, Wednesday, until tomorrow, Thursday.
It comes as the Met Office forecasted persistent rain for the area.
And it certainly seems persistent so far.
According to the Met Office, the rain in Warrington is set to continue until 1am on Friday.
But there will only be a short dry spell, as it is expected to fall again from around 7am that morning.
Forecasters are warning that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings, while fast-flowing or deep floodwater is possible, ‘causing a danger to life’.
Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible, while spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
