A WIRE weaving company based in Warrington is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year.
Graepel Perforators, based in Burtonwood Industrial Estate, was founded in 1959 and specialises in woven wire and rubber products.
Its landmark anniversary will be celebrated this year by the manufacturer, which is one of the last of its kind in Warrington.
The founder of Graepels, Harald Graepel, comes from a lineage of industrialists, with his family business originating in Budapest in 1889.
In 1944, H Graepel Limited acquired Jones and Thomas Wireworkers of Warrington, and since then the company has continued to manufacture woven wire.
Today, the company continues to weave wire in Warrington, preserving a tradition that spans 250 years.
“As the CEO of Graepels, celebrating 65 years holds significant meaning for me,” said Harold Graepel.
“It represents a journey marked with resilience, adaptability and growth.
“Like many businesses, we’ve experienced both highs and lows over six and a half decades, yet each challenge has only strengthened our business, emerging stringer and more competitive in our marketplace.
“Having been a part of this company since my childhood in the late 1960s and early 1970s, I cherish the memories of our early years and the sense of pride that comes with witnessing our evolution over my past 61 years with the company.”
