THE Slug and Lettuce in Stockton Heath has announced it is to close next week.

The pub first opened on Victoria Square, London Road, exactly 10 years ago and will close its doors for the final time on Friday, May 24.

The venue will be revamped and is scheduled to reopen as The Phoenix Bar & Grill the following week on Thursday, June 6.

A spokesperson for The Slug and Lettuce said: "We are sad to share that we will be closing next Friday.

"Stockton Heath - it's been a dream and you've been fabulous.

"We'd love to see you one last time before we close the doors."

A spokesperson from Stonegate said “The Slug & Lettuce in Stockton Heath will close on Friday, May 24, making way for the exciting launch of The Phoenix Bar & Grill on Thursday, June 6.

“The newly revamped venue will feature a diverse, foodie-focused menu including tapas, pizzas, and street food.

“Guests can also look forward to live music events, bottomless brunches and a variety of other activities, positioning The Phoenix Bar & Grill as a vibrant community hub.

“Aimed at catering to all age groups, the establishment is eager to welcome the local community with its fresh, new offerings.”
