A MAN was found dead in his bed at an address in Warrington, a coroner’s court heard.

Police officers were called to a property on St Elphin’s Close in Howley on March 26.

The body of a 49-year-old man was found dead in the bedroom of the home and a neighbour on the street confirmed the identity of Philip Ellis to the police.

An inquest into his death was opened at Cheshire Coroner’s Court on Wednesday after toxicology reports suggested it to be an ‘unnatural death’.

Area coroner of Cheshire, Jacqueline Devonish, confirmed an inquest into the death was necessary and adjourned the hearing to take place on August 12, with a case review to take place on July 14.
