A MAN has been sentenced after pleading guilty to assaulting a neighbour with a garden chair during a dispute.
Christopher Gannon, of Redshank Lane in Birchwood, appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 14.
The court heard that on January, 15 Gannon had entered into a dispute with a neighbour.
It was heard that Gannon, 28, pushed the victim down the stairs of his property during the argument, and proceeded to throw a garden chair at them outside the house.
As a result of the fall, the victim sustained four different injuries, but none were sustained after the garden chair was thrown.
Gannon, who has three prior convictions, was not represented by a solicitor in court.
“It’s doing my head in,” he told the court.
While Gannon told the court his actions were in self-defence, he previously pleaded guilty to assault by beating and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
He was sentenced to 12 months community order, 15 days of rehabilitation, 40 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £119 to the court.
