A FUN day held at Tetley Walkers in Orford raised an incredible £9,000 for charity.
Around 700 people attended a day of rugby and fun last weekend with the money to be split between St. Rocco's Hospice and Halton Haven Hospice.
Matches included two games of girls rugby (Warrington Girls CRLFC U11's Vs Leigh Miners Girls U11's, Warrington Girls CRLFC U12's Vs Leigh Miners Girls U11's) and the main match which was Warrington Select Vs Great Britain Police RL.
Event attendees were treated to three thrilling games that were all close on the score sheet. The event was also attended by Insp. Hillyard and Sgt. Cunliffe of Warrington Police who attended to show support to the event and also their colleagues in GB Police.
The tight game finished 24-16 to GB Police.
A spokesman said: "Ultimately at the conclusion of full time, the score was forgotten about, and all players came together to celebrate a great day raising money for two brilliant charities.
"The conclusion of the main match marked the end of the fun day and players families and friends enjoyed a post match party in Walkers Sports & Social club where they were entertained by local band, Brown Sauce.
"Planning for 2025 will soon be under way. We already have sponsors and attendees asking to be involved again, which is great news.
"With this event now being successful in it's second year. It is starting to cement itself as an annual May Day bank holiday event."
