A WORKPLACE in Warrington has been named one of the best places to work in the UK by The Sunday Times.

The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024, which was published today, Friday, has named Cogent Skills as one of the best medium-sized employers in the country.

The list celebrates employers who score highly in a number of areas, including happiness, pride and wellbeing among their employees.

The scheme analysed 50,000 organisations globally and recognises those with the highest ratings.

Cogent Skills, a charity based in Mandarin Court Centre Park in Warrington, supports science-based industries including nuclear, life sciences and chemicals.

It helps deliver a range of skills services including apprenticeship training and employment and specialist safety training for hire hazard sites.

The charity, which employs 80 people across two sites, had 94 per cent of staff say they felt pride at being an employee there, and 95 per cent said they believe Cogent cares for their wellbeing.

“We’re thrilled to be named one of the best places to work in the UK,” said Justine Fosh, Cogent Skills’ chief executive officer.

“As a purpose driven organisation, we are focussed on supporting and investing in the skills for our sector.

“This starts with our people and this tremendous achievement is a testament to the positive culture we’ve built in recent years and how hard we all work to ensure our people are supported and valued.

“We take real pride in our workforce and believe that if we take care of our people, then the business and the work we do can only flourish.”
