A MAN from Newton-le-Willows has been charged as part of a police operation targeting county lines drug dealing.

Merseyside Police said two people have been charged with drug offences, as part of ongoing work by the force’s county lines taskforce.

As part of Project Medusa, two men, aged 21 and 25, and a 54-year-old woman, were arrested by officers on patrol in the Manchester Road area of Southport on Wednesday, May 8.  

Aniyah Burchall, 21, of Park Road South, Newton-le-Willows, has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin).

Doyle Jones, 25, of no fixed address, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin) and possession of Class B drugs (cannabis).

Meanwhile, the 54-year-old woman has been released under investigation.

Burchall and Jones were remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court today, Thursday 9 May.
