A READY meal provider, which has a base in Warrington, has been awarded the UK’s highest business accolade for the fourth time.
Wiltshire Farm Foods, which is based in Trident Industrial Park in Birchwood, has been awarded a King’s Awards for Enterprise in Sustainable Development.
The award, which is regarded as the UK’s highest business accolade, marks the fourth time the company has received the Royal honour.
The company, which has previously won three Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, has a closed-loop recycling scheme, which involves customers returning food trays to drivers in order to recycle them.
The project has seen 25 million trays be recycled into new ones, an achievement that gained recognition from the award body.
“On behalf of the whole team, we are so proud to be recognised with a King’s Awards for our closed-loop recycling tray scheme,” said Steve Bishop, Warrington branch manager.
“This is all down to the tireless work from our drivers and their relationships with customers.
“Getting them involved in doing their bit for the environment has been a real motivator and something they really enjoy being a part of.
“It’s a brilliant example of teamwork at its best.”
