POLICE were called to reports of a 'suspicious man' in Golden Square Shopping Centre on Saturday afternoon.
Officers were called just before 3pm to reports the man was in possession of two knives.
A large police presence was reported by onlookers with some officers armed with tasers.
The incident took place near to the Pop Vinyl shop.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "Officers attended and stopped the man. Following a search, it was found that the knives were plastic toys.
"No arrests were made, and the man was given words of advice."
