WARRINGTON HF Rambling Club, which hosts more than 90 walks a year, is celebrating its 75th anniversary as it continues to go from ‘strength to strength’.
Founded in 1949, Warrington HF Rambling Club provides interesting walks for its 120 members at a variety of difficulties.
Walks range from rambles around the area on summer evenings, to higher grade demanding hikes of 12 miles or more.
The group host weekend walks, as well as rambles on Wednesdays, and regularly enjoy a drink at a pub at the end of their walks.
The group also travel to places like north Wales, Derbyshire, Shropshire, and the Lake District, for its two weekends away each year.
Over the years, the ramblers have even travelled abroad to Spain, Bulgaria, France and Cyprus, and this year they are heading Italy.
On September 28, Warrington Rambling Club will celebrate its 75th anniversary with a party and hot buffet.
“I am delighted to say the club has gone from strength to strength over the years and I am sure it will celebrate its centennial anniversary when the time comes,” said Peter Winter, chair of the Warrington HF Rambling Club.
Membership to join the Rambling Club costs £12 per year.
