VENUES across Warrington will be coming together to host a month full of music, as Warrington BID launch its first music month.
The collaborative effort will aim to showcase Warrington’s vibrant music scene and celebrate performers from across the north west.
Warrington BID, along with venues across town, decided to launch Warrington’s Music Month after Neighbourhood Weekender, which was staged in Victoria Park, was postponed to 2025.
“This initiative not only highlights the incredible talent within our town but also provides an opportunity for residents and visitors alone to come together and enjoy a diverse range of musical experiences,” said Amy Dawber, Warrington business improvement district manager.
“It will be a great opportunity for businesses in the town to get involved and we are looking forward to seeing a variety of events to suit everyone, no matter your taste in music.”
Throughout May, participating venues will host a range of events, featuring both established acts and emerging artists across various genres.
One of the highlights is Music Month will be the return of Warrington Music Festival on Saturday, May 25 at midday.
This year’s festival has been expanded to include two stages, one at Golden Square and another at Time Square.
Golden Square will welcome the return of Indie Disco, featuring three world renowned bands missed in with some fun and tunes courtesy of DJ and broadcaster, Clint Boon
Time Square will showcase The Untold Orchestra and special guests for Proms in the Square.
At Parr Hall, Steeleye Span will be marking 55 years together with their new tour on Monday, May 6.
Then, just days later, Alexander O’Neal will be performing his farewell tour at the same venue on Thursday, May 9.
Finally, music legends, The Drifters, will be performing their show to Warrington’s Parr Hall on Friday, May 24.
Throughout the month, Warrington Market will be hosting musical activities, the Non-Stop Music Quiz and performers at the town’s Young Traders Market.
“This town is full of musical talent, and Warrington’s Music Month is a fantastic way to celebrate that,” said Amy.
“We’re excited for the venues to throw open their doors and showcase the incredible bands and singers that our town has to offer.”
