TICKETS are on sale for an incredible charter journey from Warrington to Scarborough to help raise money for charity.
The Railway Benefit Fund is a charity that provides support to current, former, and retired railway workers and their families across the UK.
It’s ‘Bucket and Spade’ charter will help raise money to fund the charity and will take place on Wednesday, June 5.
The charter will be hauled by a Class 40 locomotive D213 ‘Andania’ and will have First Class Intercity carriages.
The journey will commence in Crewe and will call at Warrington Bank Quay and Manchester Victoria before going on to Scarborough for a day by the sea.
There is also an option to spend the day in York if preferred.
After a few hours in Scarborough, the train will depart for its return journey and arrive back in Crewe in the evening.
“Our aim is to provide a good value, enjoyable day out for everybody whilst raising money to support the railway family,” said Pete Waterman OBE, president of the Railway Benefit Fund.
“Who doesn’t enjoy a day at the good old British seaside on the stunning Yorkshire coast, or if the beach isn’t your thing, you can spend the day in York and maybe visit the National Railway Museum.
“I’m certainly looking forward to the journey and meeting you then.”
A First Class non-dining ticket is £99 per person and includes the option to purchase refreshments from the buffet bar whilst on board.
For those that want to enjoy meals on board, the First Class dining ticket is £199 per person and includes a full English on the outward journey, as well as a three course meal on the return.
