THERE were 200 babies born under Warrington and Halton Hospital Teaching Hospitals last month.

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust collates all the baby-related data every month detailing how many babies are born – boys and girls – whether there are any sets of twins or triplets and how babies are delivered.

There are monthly stats for the lightest baby and the heaviest baby and which is the busiest day of each month for new arrivals.

Some 200 new arrivals were born at Warrington Hospital or at home in the third month of 2024 – 103 boys and 97 girls – and one set of twins.

The lightest baby born in March weighed 3lb 8oz (1,600g) and the heaviest baby topped the scales at 10lb 3oz (4,630g).

The busiest day for babies being born last month was March 7 when 12 babies made an appearance.

Three babies were born in the Nest – the midwifery-led unit – together with 25 Caesarean elective sections and 48 unplanned sections.

There were 107 vaginal births and 19 assisted deliveries and some 96 babies were induced.

One baby was born at home and there were five water births and 74 per cent of babies were breast fed.
