A COMEDY show will be taking place in Warrington this year during Pride to raise money for Peace in Mind.
Jacqueline Haselden, 27, decided to organise a comedy show for Pride after she realised that there haven’t been many stand-up shows during the event in the past.
She hosted a show during Pride last year, which was extremely successful and decided to get a group of local comedians together to do the same this year.
“I noticed there wasn’t much in the way of comedy except for my show last year,” she said.
“In Warrington you have to acknowledge that there are different people who like different things so it’s providing an event for people who want something a bit quieter.”
In total, eight acts will take part in the show called Pride at the Hive, including six comedians and two musicians.
Jacqueline, who performs as Jacqueline Fontaine, will be the compère for the show and believes the show has something for everyone to enjoy.
All funds raised at Pride at the Hive will be donated to Peace in Mind, a charity set up by Esther Ghey in memory of her daughter Brianna.
Brianna, who was transgender, was tragically killed in February last year and her death deeply impacted the LGBTQ+ Community.
“I chose Peace in Mind mainly because it’s for Brianna, and it’s important that we celebrate not only local charities but that we remember the people that we have lost along the way,” said Jacqueline.
“Her mum is actually coming to the show, which is amazing.”
Pride at the Hive will take place at Tank Bar and Live Lounge on Saturday, June 8.
Jacqueline has set different price points for tickets to the event, hoping people will be as generous as they can afford.
“We’re just asking for even a just pound on the day – just donate what you can,” she said.
Doors will open at 7.30pm and tickets can be found here, along with a full line up of the acts.
