THIS year marks the 35th anniversary of the opening of Gulliver's World.
The Old Hall theme park first opened in 1989.
While the rides and attractions have been replaced and modernised, many of the themes have remained the same.
Dinosaurs remain a popular attraction.
And the log flume remains one the most popular rides.
Te Warrington park was the second of four Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts across the UK.
The resort, aimed at children between the ages of two and 13, has more than 50 rides, attractions, shows and activities, including The Wriggler, The Pirate Ship, Desperado Drop, The Antelope Wooden Coaster, Togo Tower and animatronic dinosaurs.
In 2023, Gulliver’s Gears opened at the resort – a new car-themed area with two new rides: the Grand Prix Racer rollercoaster, and Overdrive – a 360-degree thrill and one of Gulliver’s most daring rides.
The park also has a number of accommodation options.
Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts was founded by Ray Phillips and his late wife Hilary, who opened the family’s first theme park – Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock Bath in 197.
Today, the business, which also includes Gulliver’s Land in Milton Keynes and Gulliver’s Valley in Rotherham, is headed up by Ray and Hilary’s daughter, managing director Julie Dalton, along with her brother Nick Phillips, who is also a director.
