This week, we’re talking to Lucy Shaw, who lives in Lymm.
She started taking photographs in high school and studied GCSE photography.

When and why did you take up photography?
I took up photograph in high school at GCSE level because I always enjoyed taking photographs and had recently purchased a camera.
What do you love about taking pictures?
I love creating and composing photographs of all kinds of subject matter. I don’t particularly limit myself to one subject.

Where is your favourite place to take pictures and why?
I like taking photographs on holiday. I love the weather, the architecture and the colours of the landscapes.
What is your favourite subject matter and why?
I love street photography - taking candid photographs of everyday life as it isn’t staged.
What do you enjoy about being part of our Camera Club on Facebook?
I really enjoy looking at other photographers’ work and seeing what they think makes a good image.
If you could photograph anyone/any place/anything, who/what would it be?
I would love to go to Tokyo and take photographs of the blossom trees as they are beautiful. I also love the country’s culture and architecture.
