A WARRINGTON shop has announced a closing down sale this weekend as it is set to close its doors temporarily for renovations.
The ‘quirky’ giftshop, Bird & Bay, located at The Cross in Lymm, will slash its prices by up to half on items up until Monday (April 15) in preparation for an exciting refurbishment.
Anji Owens, owner of the shop, told the Warrington Guardian how ‘excited’ she is to make changes to the store in the coming week, ready for it to reopen to customers on Friday, April 19.
She said: “Bird & Bay is a quirky independent gift, home and garden retailer in the heart of Lymm Village, now with a great addition of the Crepe Cabin serving delicious fresh crepes, waffles and coffees in the pretty secret garden.
“We’ve been in Lymm for nearly three years, and we are excited about a refresh and to make way for some lovely new stock ranges.”
The shop, which usually is open seven days a week, will close for a full week while the changes are being made to the interior of the shop to make room for new product collections to be introduced.
Speaking on the struggles independent businesses have faced over the last few years, Anji said: “Local independent shops have really felt the impact of the cost-of-living crisis and decreased spending, on top of rising supplier costs, bills and rates.
“At Bird & Bay we are constantly thinking of new ways to stay afloat and keep going.
“I am passionate about the importance of independent shops and businesses to keep local areas and communities thriving.”
The 51-year-old, from Lymm, added that the shop is always seeking ‘new and interesting products, locally crafted art and vintage items’ to stock.
“We provide a friendly, personal service and deliver to the door,” she added.
For now, customers can enjoy up to 50 per cent sale that will continue through to Monday. To find out more about the giftshop visit their Facebook page ‘Bird & Bay’.
