A SUSPECTED drink driver was caught after stopping for a pee at the side of the road.
A special police officer noticed a car had stopped on Daresbury Expressway last night, Tuesday, and thought the vehicle had broken down.
When he went to check on the welfare of the occupants, the driver got out and urinated at the side of the road.
The officer discovered that the man ‘smelt strongly of intoxicants’.
Further checks revealed the driver only had a provisional licence and no insurance.
The man was arrested and will appear in court.
Posting on social media, Cheshire Specials said: “The male smelt strongly of intoxicants, upon further checks he also had a provisional driver and no insurance.
“The driver refused details so has now been remanded to the next available court.”
