A GROUP of motorcyclists will take to the roads of Warrington once again this year to raise money for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health.
The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride brings motorcyclists together to help raise money for charity and has been taking place for the past 12 years, across 121 countries worldwide.
On Sunday, May 19, the riders will take to the roads once again, riding classic and vintage style motorcycles while dressed in dapper clothing.
Warrington took part in the ride last year for the first time, with 26 riders raising £5,595 between them for Movember.
“I didn’t have any experience of organising large motorcycle rides, so I wanted to keep our first year to a manageable number,” said Phil Hesmondhalgh, who organises the Warrington ride.
Phil has organised the Warrington ride once again, and hopes to make the event even better than last year – with even more opportunities to take part.
“Building on last year’s success and gaining confidence from the experience, I have increased the number this year to 40 riders,” said Phil.
“This ensures a safe ride and gives participants the opportunity to chat, share their motorcycle experiences with fellow bikers and really enjoy the day, as well as raise funds for a brilliant cause.”
The riders will gather at In2moto on Fennel Street, where there will be refreshments and a chance to mingle with the other riders.
After a health and safety talk the group will make their way through Warrington town centre before heading off on the planned 20-mile scenic route.
The motorcyclists will end the day at a traditional pub for food, drinks and pictures, where family and friends are encouraged to join them.
There are still spaces available for the Warrington group, and you can register for spot here.
