WARRINGTON has plenty of pubs on offer, but which one should you visit for a Sunday roast this Easter?
Using Google Reviews left by visitors, we’ve compiled a list of the top nine pubs in the area.
1. The Ferry Tavern
Located in Penketh, The Ferry Tavern is one of Warrington’s oldest pubs and is the highest rated pub in the area according to Google Reviews with 4.6 stars.
Every Friday a high-quality street food trader from across the north west visits the pub for Foodie Friday between 5-9pm.
One reviewer said: “Absolutely lovely pub with fantastic atmosphere. Everybody was lovely and bar staff very friendly.”
The Ferry Tavern also host pub quizzes and bingo nights.
2. The Pickering Arms
The Pickering Arms, located just a short drive from Lymm in Thelwall, is a listed building which dates back to the year 923.
Rated 4.5 stars in Google reviews, this pub offers lunch and a drink for just £10.
“The pub itself was absolutely spotless with many little nooks to take your pick to be seated at,” said one reviewer.
The Pickering Arms is dog friendly and even has a resident dog named Bella.
3. The Seven Woods
Westbrook pub, The Seven Woods, is one for sports fans as they regularly show live football and screened the recent Six Nations rugby matches.
The food receives excellent reviewers with one visitor saying: “Best fish and chip I’ve ever had. Fresh and delicious!”
The Seven Woods is rated an average of 4.5 stars and has a play area outside for children to enjoy.
4. The Parr Arms
Located in Grappenhall, The Parr Arms is rated 4.5 stars on Google reviews and is close to several local walks.
On their website, The Parr Arms have a PDF of three recommended walks for visitors to do before or after their visit.
“If you’re looking for a great dining experience any day of the week – you’ve got to try the Parr Arms,” one reviewer wrote.
The cosy pub also features open roaring fires and a range of quality cask ales and beers.
5. The White Hart
The White Hart is located in the centre of Warrington offers afternoon tea as well as traditional pub grub.
The 4.4 star rated pub states that steaks are one of their specialties and are open until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Stephanie Yau held her baby shower at The White Hart and left her glowing review on Google.
“The staff cared so much and my guests all commented on what a lovely venue it was,” she wrote.
“If you are looking for a venue to host any event – definitely go for it!”
6. The Waterside Pub and Grill
This 4.3 star pub is a hot spot for any budding musicians, poets or comedians as they host open mic nights every Thursday.
Located in Warrington, next to the Mersey, The Waterside Pub and Grill is also well-regarded for their customer service.
“I had a meal at the Waterside last week and the staff couldn’t have done enough for me or the other customers,” said Harry McEvoy.
“I always stay here at the Waterside when up on business and I look forward to the tasty food (breakfast is also a highlight).”
7. The Walton Arms
The Walton Arms is a country pub located in Higher Walton and is also rated 4.3 stars on Google Reviews.
This Easter they are offering an Easter Brownie Bombshell dessert for four days only between Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1.

“For being a simple and unsuspecting pub, the food is exceptional,” wrote Aidan Bradley.
8. The Blue Bell
The Blue Bell, located in the heart of Warrington, regularly hosts quiz nights and offers lots of live music.
On Saturday, March 23 The Blue Bell are hosting a live music night with Jonny Foreigner from 9:30pm.
One reviewer said: “The staff here are exceptional, really made the pub.”
“So friendly and really make you feel welcomed.”
9. Skymaster
Skymaster is rated 4.3 stars on Google Reviews by visitors and prides itself on being family friendly.
With spaces for kids to play both inside and outside, the Westbrook located pub has a lot to offer.
They also have a pie and a drink offer from £12.50 every Monday if you’re thinking ahead to the upcoming bank holiday.
“Carvery was tasty and well portioned even the kids carvery was massive and the mega mixed grill was delicious,” reviewer Geegee wrote.
