A POPULAR dessert chain will be opening a new drive-thru in Warrington town centre.
Last August, plans were submitted to Warrington Borough Council’s planning department to open a Krispy Kreme kiosk.
The scheme sought permission to open off one of town’s busiest roundabouts, Cockhedge.
Plans by application IGP Investments Ltd detailed that the drive-thru would be based on existing car park land which is part of School Brow Retail Park, in between Manchester Road, School Brow and Hopwood Street.
They said that there would be space for seven vehicles in the queue for kiosk.
Documents also revealed that eight EV charging spots would be created, but the size of the car park would be reduced from 120 spaces to 87.
Associated works including landscaping and the reconfiguration of the existing car park were also outlined.
As of today, Tuesday, the plans have been approved by the council’s planning department.
