ONE of the oldest art groups in the north west is set to have its artwork displayed at Warrington Museum and Art Gallery later this week.
Warrington Art Group will have 59 original pieces of artwork created by members on display from Friday, March 22 until Sunday, May 26.
The group consists of 31 members, seeing an increase of 17 members since last year and is steadily growing.
The 30 to 85-year-olds meet once a fortnight between September to May each year at The Old School on Fairfield Street.
On the first Monday of each month the group hosts a demonstration by a professional, and at the following meeting they paint together following a theme.
In the summer, the group meet at various locations in the area and do Plein Air – the practice of painting a piece outside.
Membership is £35 which allows members to attend all meetings and demonstrations, as well as gain membership to Supporting All Artists (SAA), the UK’s largest community of artists.
Warrington Art Group have two exhibitions of their work a year, and the latest exhibit will include a range of work from acrylics to photographs, which will be showing to public for free.
