SPRING is well and truly in the air with gardeners across Cheshire already planning what to plant for the year ahead.
And with the popular Spring Plant Hunters' Fair returning to Arley Hall Gardens, near Appleton, later this month, gardeners are being encouraged to take advantage of this 'perfect planty treat'.
Taking place on Sunday, March 24, the event will have 30 specialist plant nurseries and artisans from across the country on hand to offer their expertise and show off their wares.
And, for the first time, entry to nationally-renowned gardens is included with the plant fair allowing visitors to enjoy a stroll at a reduced price.
Organiser Martin Blow said: "The great thing about specialist plant fairs is the tremendous range of top quality plants from family-run nurseries all brought together in one place.
"There will be lots of flowering bulbs, perennials and shrubs for instant colour, plus plenty of later flowering plants to plant now for colour into the summer and beyond.
"Wildflowers, fruit trees, herbs, alpines, will also feature at the fair. There will also be a great range of gardening accessories on offer.
“The nursery folk are on hand to help, each with years of knowledge and experience, and full of helpful tips. Now’s the time to think ahead and plan that dream border for your garden.
"This event is such great value why not bring your friends and family to make a day of it.
"Entry includes full access to the gardens and this brilliant plant fair for only £5 for adults, Children (under 16) have free entry and there is free parking."
The fair runs from 10am to 4pm on March 24. The Gardener's Kitchen café is open for refreshments. Dogs on a lead are welcome.
