THE recent departure of a Padgate school head teacher and the school’s board of governors has sparked speculation among the community.
The Guardian understands the former head teacher at Woolston Brook Special School, in Padgate, was removed from the position in December last year.
And Warrington Borough Council have confirmed there is a recruitment process in place to fill the vacancy.
The board of governors were also removed, and an interim executive board were appointed by the Department for Education late last year.
No further details have been confirmed as to what caused the removal of the head and the board of governors but there has been much speculation surrounding the events at the Padgate Lane school.
An advert has now been put out for the replacement of the head.
A spokesperson for Warrington Borough Council commented on the situation, saying: “An interim executive board was put in place in autumn and there is a recruitment process under way for a new head teacher.”
