A TEENAGER who was a 'beautiful soul inside and out' overdosed, an inquest has heard.
Kie Edward Curtis was just 19 years old when he passed away in October last year.
A written inquest into his death was read by Senior Coroner Jacqueline Devonish on Wednesday (February 28).
She explained that Kie died at his home on Thewall New Road in Grappenhall on October 21, 2023, due to an “accidental overdose of illicit drugs”.
The medical cause of death was determined as “combined toxicity”, namely heroin, ketamine and tapentadol.
As such, the inquest prepared by Assistant Coroner Elizabeth Wheeler concluded that his death was drug-related.
Kie’s aunt, Nicole Young, set up a GoFundMe page following his death to help pay for a funeral, with more than £1,500 donated.
She said: “Kie was a beautiful soul inside and out.
“He was funny, kind and incredibly smart.
“He was only 19 years old at the time of his passing, he had his whole life in front of him.”
