A PRIMARY school has submitted plans for new security fencing to improve the safety of pupils.
Proposals say the new 2.4m mesh fencing and gate would replace the existing one at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Whitecross.
They say the new fencing would create a ‘robust and effective barrier thereby ensuring the safety and security of the school’s pupils, staff, and property’.
“The new fencing will be strategically designed to prevent unauthorised access while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing appearance commonly found on primary and secondary schools within the UK,” documents read.
“The proposed works will not affect the existing access parameters to the school, only improve mitigating any unauthorised access by improving security.”
The plans are with the council and will be decided upon in due course.
