A PROFFESSIONAL dancer who began tap dancing when she was four years old, is now running a successful dance school in Warrington 20 years on.

Nakita Argomandkhah, originally from Great Sankey, fell in love with the art of dancing as a tot when she first put on her tap shoes.

The 27-year-old has spent more than 20 years honing her skill, learning different forms of dance as well as acrobatics and performing arts.

After initially learning tap and ballet she went on to achieve a degree in dance and performing arts.

Her career as a professional dancer even saw her perform on stage for the likes of Craig David and Ken Dodd, as well as winning a worldwide competition held at the Disney Land resort Epcot.

Meanwhile just four years ago, Nakita took on a job helping run a small dance school Kandy Productions which was based at David Lloyd Warrington, and it was there she found he love for working with children.

Nakita’s fiancé Shaun Gunson told the Warrington Guardian how she went on to buy the school at the young age of 23 and moved it to a bigger site on Causeway Avenue where it remains to this day.

“She bought it just before Covid. When she got it up and running again, she converted multiple offices into the dance studio.

“She has always wanted to do something she enjoyed as a career. When she began teaching at the school, she realised she loved working with kids,” Shaun said.

He explained that Nakita gained her teaching qualification at Riverside College in St Helens and now teaches a whole range of different types of dances at Kandy Productions including ballet and tap, commercial and jazz.

However, her skills do not end there as she also performs acrobatics and runs sessions in this for adults at the school to.

Nakita and fellow dance teacher Samantha Dailey teach children ranging in age from two years all the way up 19.

Detailing the success of the school and its students, Shaun added how it has won many dance competitions in the past and students have gone on to do great things.

“One of her previous students is now on a placement there at the school. He was in the grand final of a dance competition only recently.”

Shaun, who owns his own entertainment business, described how important dance is to his wife-to-be.

“It has helped her with everything all the way through her life. The dance teachers used to pick her for all the main parts. Everyone hated her because she would always be picked, but she was always only ever wanting to make new friends.

“She pushed through it, because she is passionate about it.”

Kandy Production will be offering a month of free classes throughout March for those interested in enrolling in the dance school. To find out more visit the website kandyproductions.co.uk/
