A PEDESTRIAN sustained 'serious' injuries and was taken to hospital following a vehicle collision on a main town centre road.

Police were called to the scene on Battersby Lane following reports that a vehicle had collided with a pedestrian at approximately 9.49pm last night, Friday.

The road was closed and a large emergency service presence including an ambulance attended.

A man was taken to Warrington Hospital having sustained 'serious' but not life threatening injuries.

The road remained closed until 11.58pm while investigations were carried out on the scene.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At 2149hrs on Friday 23rd February 2024 a single vehicle road traffic collision was reported on Battersby Lane, Warrington.

"A car was in collision with an adult pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained serious, but not life threatening injuries.  He was conveyed to Warrington Hospital for treatment.

"The road was closed until 2358hrs whilst investigations were completed at the scene.”
