A WORKER has tragically died following a medical episode in Warrington.
Emergency services attended an Amazon warehouse at Omega shortly before 1.30pm this afternoon, Friday.
Sadly, it has now been confirmed that the worker in question, a driver, has died.
Amazon says it is working with authorities during an investigation of the incident.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Police attended a warehouse on Orion Boulevard.
“This followed reports of a medical episode at 1.24pm.”
An Amazon spokesman said: “This is a tragic incident.
“Our thoughts are with the driver’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.
“We will work with the authorities as they investigate.”
Amazon has two sites at Omega – a fulfilment centre and a delivery centre – with the incident occurring at the latter.
The 18,800 square metre building has been fully operational and serving customers since September 2021.
