A WOMAN will be stand-up paddleboarding the complete width of Scotland to raise funds for a Warrington charity.
The money raised by Warrington Animal Welfare (WAW) volunteer Catherine Hopkins will go towards building a recovery room for larger dogs to rest after surgery.
Currently the Slutchers Lane charity is only able to operate on small dogs as it does not have the room or facilities to care for larger dogs post operation.
“This recovery room will ensure that our vet nurse will be able to sit and care for animals after their operation,” a spokesperson for WAW said.
Catherine, from Widnes, will take on the 100km challenge in May, starting at Fort William, paddleboarding all the way through to Inverness.
She will paddle 20 miles a day along the Great Glen Trail which is made up of canals joined together by Loch Oich, Loch Lochy, and Loch Ness.
Catherine is hoping to raise £5,000 through her efforts.
She has been training hard to prepare for the challenge, paddling along the Bridgewater Canal, River Weaver, and a number of lakes.
