SHE is a comedian, presenter, writer, actor and singer.
Now Katherine Ryan has another string to her bow – Battleaxe.
That’s the name and theme of the Canadian entertainer’s new tour which is coming to Parr Hall on September 26.
The show comes at a particular time in Katherine’s life. She’s recently entered her 40s and is marking the ‘Battleaxe era’ with a feisty new outlook.
Or as the dictionary defines it, by becoming ‘a frightening and unpleasant older woman with strong opinions’.
Battleaxe will mark Katherine’s first major UK and European tour since the sell-out international smash hit that was Missus ended its year-long run in 2022.
But the award-winning presenter’s TV work has been pretty much non-stop in-between. Her debut Netflix sitcom, The Duchess – which she wrote, executive produced and starred in – leapt to the top of the UK Netflix chart on its release.
Elsewhere, Katherine is the star of UKTV’s hugely popular new series Parental Guidance, as well as Comedy Central’s upcoming Out of Order with Rosie Jones and Judi Love.
Other highlights include Backstage With Katherine Ryan for Amazon Prime and Sky’s Romantic Getaway with Romesh Ranganathan.
The versatile entertainer’s packed CV also includes two series of the BBC Two jewellery-making competition series, All That Glitters, and a debut book, The Audacity, which went straight into the Sunday Times Bestseller list.
