POLICE have named a suspect charged over an arson attack at a house.

A large emergency service presence was reported outside a two-storey terraced house on Wilderspool Causeway at around 6.40am on Monday.

Crews from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, Cheshire Police and North West Ambulance Service were spotted at the scene, along with crime scene investigators.

Fire crews rescued one person who was trapped on top of the burning building.

Four people were treated at the scene by paramedics, with three of them then being taken to hospital.

At the time, police confirmed that an investigation was underway, and that the cause of the fire was being treated as suspicious.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following the incident.

Now, Cheshire Police has confirmed that a suspect has now been charged, and he will appear before the crown court next month.

A police spokesman said: “Officers from Cheshire Police have charged a man following an arson in Warrington.

“Musa Camara was arrested on Monday, February 19, following an incident at an address on Wilderspool Causeway.

“The 22-year-old, of Wilderspool Causeway, has since been charged with arson with intent to endanger life and arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.

“Camara has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, March 19.

“The charges relate to an incident at a residential address that occurred shortly after 6.30am on Monday, February 19.

“The address was evacuated and three people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.”
