A LARGE police presence was reported on a busy route through the town over the weekend.

A number of Cheshire Police and North West Ambulance Service vehicles were reported in the Dallam area on Sunday.

This came after emergency services received reports of concerns for the safety of a man on a bridge, shortly before 6am.

Officers and paramedics attended the scene and took a man to hospital.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At around 5.50am on Sunday, February 18, police were called to concerns for the safety of a man on Cromwell Avenue.

“Officers attended the scene and a 33-year-old man was assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital.”
