A FUN day in Orford to raise money for charity is back this year - with organisers promising it will be bigger and better than before.

Tetley Walkers Charity Shield & Family Fun Day started last year and will return on Saturday, May 4 for the bank holiday.

Warrington Select is a non-profit charity fundraising rugby team featuring players who volunteer from the various community clubs to come together as a Warrington representative team to play one off games in order to raise money for charity.

Last year they played an Ireland Representative team and raised £6,000 for St Roccos Hospice and Cancer Research UK.

This year on May 4 they will be playing Great Britain Police Rugby League and are on course to hit a target of £10,000 for St Rocco's Hospice and Halton Haven Hospice.

There will also be a girls U12s game as a curtain raiser, a training display from RugbyTots and even a dance performance from Victoria Dance Academy.

A spokesman added: !The fun isn't all just on the field though, families who attend will find themselves with a makers market to browse, a fun fair to take the kids as well as plenty of activities and sports challenges for kids to get involved with.

"After all that, guests can grab a beer or a burger and watch the match. Or, if rugby isn't their thing, head back over to the makers market where they can be entertained by live music."

Tickets to the Tetley Walkers "NUVIA" Charity Shield and Family Fun day are now on sale and can be bought from within Tetley Walkers club or from Warrington Selects Facebook/Instagram Page.

Adults/kids are £3 and a family ticket (four tickets) is £10. Under 3s are free
