WARRINGTON residents are being urged to share their views to help improve the town’s night-time economy.
Warrington Borough Council is seeking views on its latest approach to taking licensing decisions.
Each council is required to adopt a statement of licensing policy to set out how it will promote the licensing responsibilities and aims under the Licensing Act 2003.
The current version has helped to shape the night-time economy of the town, reduce crime and disorder and protect people from harm.
The latest statement of licensing policy for the 2024-2029 period has been created to build on the successes of the current policy.
To gather views ahead of its release, the council is asking people to provide their feedback as part of the consultation, which will run until Tuesday, April 30.

Cllr Hitesh Patel, the council’s cabinet member for environment, housing and public protection, said: “Licensed premises play an integral role in the local community.
“The latest licensing policy aims to support a successful night-time economy, while working to ensure public safety.
“Views on the latest policy are welcomed from residents, as well as those who have in an interest in licensing and the promotion of licensing objectives.”
