THE biggest and longest-running 'Emo Prom' event in the north west has returned to its original home this year at a venue in Warrington.

Popular club night Asylum, Emo Prom, is hosted once a year and will take over the town’s one and only alternative night club Eden, on Barbauld Street, next month.

The highly anticipated event is set to take place on Friday, March 23, and promises all the elements of a high school prom but with alternative edge to it.

A huge balloon drop, slow dance and black roses handed out to attendees, is some of the things you should expect from the night as well as prom photos with the in-house photographer and the all-important crowning of the King and Queen of Asylum 2024.

Eden serves as the venue once again, a place that has held monthly ‘Asylum’ nights since July 2021, and has hosted a variety of big names over the years including Funeral For A Friend, Sean Smith (The Blackout) and in May last year, You Me At Six.

Founder and DJ, Lee Harman says: “Asylum has been incredibly important for the alternative music scene in the town, creating a safe space for people of all ages and associations.

“We’ve also managed to bring some massive names to the town, who would have never come here otherwise.”
