A NEW weekly comedy night is set to take place at a popular bar in Warrington.
Next Thursday will see the opening night of what promises to be an exciting stand up show every week at The Tank Bar.
Fairly new to scene, Tank Bar, located in The Hive will transform into a live comedy venue for one night only a week and popular Warrington comedian Bobby Murdock will be the inhouse Mc host.
The trendy venue will welcome comedy acts from all over the UK both up and coming and established in the circuit to deliver some mid-week laughs to locals.
Speaking on the upcoming comedy night, Bobby praised the ‘exciting’ venue stating that there is ‘nothing quite like it in town’.
“Comedy works so well in the right environment so with this venue we can achieve something quite spectacular,” he said.
“Giving people comfortable seating, its own private bar and a really comfortable place to eat and drink, to watch the best professional comedians in a perfect purpose, built environment for entertainment.”
He added how an extra buzz will be to perform in his hometown after being in the industry and on the road for 14 years.
“From when I started my journey in 2010, I’ve had two debut shows In Edinburgh 2013 and 2014 sell out for my solo show Who Dares Grins.
“It was a great grounding the Edinburgh comedy festival and it certainly helped me over the last 14 years writing new shows coming up with new material and becoming a professional stand-up comedian has been the best decision I’ve ever made.
“I’ve worked really hard to become a very good MC and a good pro Comic. It’s given me the ability to work on my feet, be quick-witted and I’ve literally written jokes live on stage that I’ve never heard before that go off in my head and when you get that reaction, my goodness, it’s wonderful.”
Doors will open at 7pm for the debut show next week, with the opportunity for attendees to grab some tasty grub from food vendors within The Hive before making their way to the live event.
Bobby revealed the shows first line-up is a fantastic one, with brilliant comics including Karl Porter.
“Karl is a fantastic comedian, is very high energy and very, very original he’s had a lot of success recently by going viral on the Internet with a slow motion clip it’s a real piece of brilliant stand-up that has put the spotlight on his brilliant and unique talent.
“I first saw him five years ago, and I knew then that he was going to turn into a brilliant act in my opinion, it could be the next Lee Evans.”
Meanwhile headlining the show is Harry Stachini a Manchester born comic and ‘unique talent’.
Each week Bobby will introduce a different set of three comics who will each perform their own short set.
This is a perfect event to attend with friends to break up that working week and bring some laughter to what may have been a stressful day at work.
Drinks will be flowing as well as great offers on different beverages and tickets to the show cost £10 each.
